Our clinic was closed yesterday which meant celebrating administrative professionals’ day today! These two are simply the best of the best. They work hard behind the scenes at All Aboard Therapy in a countless amount of ways. And for that we are so appreciative of them-today and everyday.
![]() Another fun opportunity for many of our birth to three families! Activities like this are another great reason why birth to three is such an amazing program. Not only do children who qualify have access to free services to support many needs, they also have access to a supportive community that creates wonderful events like these. This crew represented All Aboard Therapy on Saturday and hiked a 5K in Hurricane for the Spectrun hosted by WV CARES! Hilari, our occupational therapist that we introduced yesterday, mentioned that one of her particular areas of interest is fine motor skills.
This includes skills such as the strength and coordination of the small muscles in your fingers and hands. It's amazing what someone accomplishes through the use of their hands everyday regardless of age. From holding a bottle to playing with toys, these skills are so important for little ones now and as they get older. Check out some of the examples of fine motor skills at work on the second image! Sometimes extra support can be helpful to develop or fine tune these fine motor skills. Think that could be something from which your child could benefit? Don't hesitate to give us a call! One of the many areas that occupational therapy helps address is activities of daily living. This includes many of the self-care tasks someone might do throughout the day. Occupational therapy can help to promote the intricate skills and processes needed to complete these important daily activities through individualized therapy. That may look like working on fine motor skills for some and for some others it might look like exploring adaptations to the environment to better suit their needs.
If you feel like your child could benefit from support or further development in these skills, reach out to our office about our wonderful occupational therapy team! |
