April is Occupation Therapy Month so we are spending this month highlighting the discipline and some of our practitioners at All Aboard Therapy.
So, what is occupational therapy? Occupational therapy addresses a wide range of skills across the lifespan to promote success in the activities or “occupations” that are meaningful to a specific person. Maria Montessori once said, “Play is the work of a child” and play is certainly one of the occupations that our practitioners regularly promote with our pediatric clients. Other meaningful activities include: self-feeding, dressing, using writing tools, strategies for regulation, and so much more!
